  Found an Awake at the rest stop today..and I knew exactly what to do....

  found it at a rest stop today while traveling.

  i thought about tossing it, but decided it had a much better purpose.

  it was an issue on what to teach your young child - cute picture of a little girl (about 4 years old) on the cover.. so - i took it to my car, got out a pretty purple pen and wrote on the cover "this religion has a major probelm with pedophiles and is hurtful to young children.

  Naaahh, unless you want to count the 10,000 American fathers, grandfathers, brothers, and uncles buried at the American cementary alone at Normandy. But what the hay..... it wasn't OUR war, why should we have even gone over there

  Wasnt the U.S war?U-boats were sinking Your Boats off the coast of Florida in the early part of the War!America was shitting itself over Hitlers conquests and rapidly expanding axis power!An early example of American propoganda saying"we are so self sacrificing and we only go to War to help others".All the real fighting had been done prior to 1944,but somebody had to come in at the end and take charge of the re-building.Who was that again?Oh yeah,US of A.Dont tell me somebody didnt make out of the Marshall plan.

  It was bollocks then and is bollocks in Iraq.

  Decent ,genuine non-right wing Americans (LIKE MY FATHER)will understand this view point.

  As long as the average JW refuses to acknowledge there has been and may still be a problem with the JW methodolgy of handling these cases it will continue and more children will suffer.

  But happy guy?.............................nah,cant be bothered ,been down this Road before.

  It sounds to me as if it is personal.Al-qaeda hates Bush with a serious passion.....get rid of the nutter and maybe the other Nutters will let up?

  when their actions spill outside of the congregation and get in the newspapers, there is no hushing it up.

  the stories i am about to tell are factual, but the names have been changed to protect the guilty.. many years ago in a small neighboring town, there was a small mexican restaurant that was owned by a non jw who employed jw relatives and nonrelatives.

  it was a popular place.

  Anyway, they had worked out a plan. Get DF'd, get divorced, get married to each other, then come back as fine outstanding JW's. Well the years went by and they both reinstated and "happily" married

  In the UK i know they have really clamped down on this practice.It was getting to the point where People were just taking the piss.In my old circuit i remember a Local needs of the circuit Talk,about 2 Years ago,where the CO mentioned this Problem.He said it would now take many,many Years (he mentioned double figures!)for a couple in this position to prove themselves.Quite right too.

  as an english speaking person, with an english accent, living in england.

  why were we subjected every year to the conventions drama with an american voice over.. could they not have had tapes with an english accent?.

  i have nothing against the american accent, some are very pleasent .

  jws are a self-righteous bunch!-------- do you remember when an elder or so-called "mature one" would get into some trouble and either get "disciplined" or "deleted" and the reaction in the hall?

  some used to gloat over a big-shot getting into trouble with the elders or circuit overseer.

  or the gossip mill would just be buzzing over seeing someone going into the "backroom" with 2 or 3 elders.....do you remember those days???

  However it is ok for an elder to call another elder with his cell phone and then place the phone in his pocket while talking to someone. This is commonly done so that the person does not know there is a "second witness" to any confessions he makes to the "lone" elder

  Oh yes,i will concur with this.I know of an occasion in my old Congregation.sneaky and i would definitely think bordering on the illegal.
